Home Office Transformation

Project Overview:

Painted gray cabinets with paisley wallpaper mix with gray armchairs and a pink ottoman to create a feminine home office retreat. A soft area rug in gray, pink and coral mix well with drapery panels in a pink geometric embroidered print on acrylic hardware.

This masculine home office needed to be updated for a wife’s home office. The stained built-in cabinets, mantle and coffered ceiling treatment felt dark and heavy. While the grasscloth wallpaper was in good condition, the color didn’t work with the new plan. A feminine scheme was necessary to update the space for the new homeowner.

Painting a medium gray on the built-in cabinets, mantle, trim and coffered ceiling detail was a fresh update to the room immediately. Paired with a monochromatic paisley wallpaper the colors soften the space. A white leather office chair tucks into the desk. Upholstered pieces, including a bright pop of strawberry pink, mix with a soft rug in shades of gray, pink and coral. The pink is repeated in the drapery side panels hung on acrylic drapery rods, throw pillows and art. Now this home office is a feminine retreat!
